3 Things you must Consider before Buying a Treadmill

Are you considering purchasing a treadmill? If so, then well done for making a great investment in your health and fitness. There are now many choices of home fitness treadmills available in today’s market and it can get very confusing on which type or brand to go for. To help you make sense of what to buy so that you end up with a quality machine that will last for many years I believe you must consider the following criteria before making that purchase.

Is the motor powerful enough? – Buying a treadmill with enough power is crucial as it means that it will have a longer life cycle. If the motor is working to hard to maintain performance then have the risk that is may burn out quickly. I would advise to get a treadmill with a minimum of 1.5 horsepower but preferably 2.0 horsepower if your budget will allow. A good quality powerful motor will also give you a much better workout and allow you to progress to a much higher level.

Cast Iron Warranty – An excellent warranty is a good indicator of the quality of that machine. The best treadmills normally come from well-known and respected brands who achieve this status by offering strong warranties on their equipment so that you can buy with piece of mind. Avoiding a poor warranty is probably a good way to stay away from a poor quality treadmill. If you have narrowed your search down to a few potential machines then the warranty may just be the final feature that can make your decision.

Good for your joints – If you are intending to use your treadmill on a regular basis (I hope you are) then you will want to avoid causing pain and potential injury to your joints such as ankles, knees and hips. Therefore you want a treadmill with excellent cushioning. Obviously wearing the right pair of running shoes will help but without the extra cushioning of the treadmill you do risk the possible risk of injury. A combination of both will provide you with a low-impact and pain free workout.

Making sure your treadmill meets as a minimum these 3 criteria should ensure you end up with a quality machine. It’s just up to you now to get the most from it.If you want a top quality treadmill for your home that gives you performance, reliability and safety these are the ones that we recommend.
